in a Massachusetts town that also birthed Johnny Appleseed and the plastic pink lawn flamingo, entrenching herself from a young age in the trivial and bizarre. Early passions for theatre and special effects makeup planted the seeds for a sculptural practice that is bodily, grotesque, humorous, and multiplicitous. Jess never stays doing one thing for very long, aside from telling stories with too many details. She is a fascinating procrastinator, a collector of collections, and always returns from a night out with a few new friends. After past ventures including but not limited to practicing veterinary medicine, performing semi-passably as a figure skater, and a few unfulfilling years of graphic design, she’s reached the conclusion that only the ambiguity of sculpture can contain her. She is a current senior at the Maine College of Art and Design with a rapidly approaching graduation date of May, 2026. When Jess isn’t stitching vessels for poly-fil or moving clay with her hands in her studio, she knows she probably should be.
